Answer:

Explanation:

Definition of Lewis structure is a drawing of a molecule that illustrates the connectivity of the compound, as well as identifying the lone pairs of electrons available for bonding with other molecules. Lines between atoms in a Lewis structure represent covalent bonds and lone pair electrons are drawn as a pair of dots.

Rules for drawing lewis dot structure

1. Count the number of valence electron each atom brings into the molecule Trisulfur

S3 = 6 valence electron X 3 = 18 valence electron

2. Put the electron pairs about each atom such that there are 8e- around each atom (octet rule)

with exception of H, which is only surrounded by 2e- . Sometimes it’s necessary to form double

and triple bonds. Only the elements C, N, O,P and S will form double and triple bonds.

3. If there is not enough e-  to follow the octet rule then the least electronegative atom is left

short of e-

4. If there are too many e-  to follow the octet rule, then the extra 8e- are placed on the central atom.

Definition of resonance: this is a way of describing bonding in certain molecules or ions by the combination of several contributing structures into a resonance hybrid in valence bond theory

Conclusion: The lewis structure is shown in the attached picture below, including the lewis dots and the resonance structure also satisfy the octet rule.
