The writing of Benjamin have certainly qualities of improvement and the three most evident strengths are:

Structure: the sentence, regardless of the spellings, has a structure to it. It starts with an "I" and ends on the object.

Creativity: it may be an assumption right now but Benjamin does show sings of creativity by writing about his dream and writing using his own spellings to express his thoughts.

Sense: regardless that the spellings are wrong but they do make sense and anyone would be able to make out half, if not complete, sentence.

The two instructional strategies that the teacher can use is:

Guiding: the teacher can help Benjamin to bring the words together. A singular word has to be written together, making it more understandable. i.e. " dr am" in comparison to " dram".

Write what you see: another strategy that the teacher can apply is to ask Benjamin to write about all the things he sees on a daily basis. The spellings can be corrected gradually as there will be things repeating and Benjamin will learn them.
