Ulysses S. Grant was the 18th President of the United States. Before he was president, he had a military education which led him to win and be goo with strategies for the Mexican-American War and also the Civil War.

That was his background, thanks to that education he could be able to accomplish many things as president. However, in his aitobiography he also mentions his weakness as president such as when the  Senate rejected Grant's prized Caribbean Dominican Republic annexation on his last years as president.

He mentions that he regrets that he was removed from the military too soon because it could´ve given him the tools to accomplish those kind of tasks.
