To find the area shaded region we can see that the circle is equal to the side of the square
Hence



Diameter of circle=16cm
Radius=8cm


To find the area of the shaded region we have find the area of the square and subtract the area of the circle from it




Area of square=(side)2
=16x16
256cm2




Area of circle= πr2
=22/7x8x8
=201.14cm2



Area of shaded region=area of square-area of circle

=256-201.14

=54.9cm2
So it’s option D
