rarely enforced, and while the authors have not had the pleasure of drinking a beer in North Dakota, we bet we could and at least one restaurant that would serve us a pretzel, too. None of us are willing to test the uncaged bear law. As you will see in this chapter, there is much to be studied about global deviance and social control.

Some say it is America’s insatiable consumer demand for illicit drugs and the constant flow of our guns, which arm the cartels. I believe that Mexico’s own government is ineffective in controlling the trade of the drug cartels because of rampant corruption in law enforcement in the country. If Mexican government can terms those involves in illegal drugs as deviant, i believe the number of drug dealers will reduce in Mexico.
