MAD means "Mean, Absolute, Deviation" right? If not, can you tell me what it is?

Well we know the mean, is just the average. And to find average, we add everything together and divide it by the amount there is.

So it's the sum of 2,3,5,7,8,8,9 divided by the amount (7):

2 + 3 + 5 + 7 + 8 + 8 + 9 = 42.

Divide by 7:

42 / 7 = 6. The mean is 6.

I think to calculate mean, absolute deviation, you find the mean (6) and calculate the distance between each data point, and the mean:

2 to 6 = 4

3 to 6 = 3

5 to 6 = 1

7 to 6 = 1

8 to 6 = 2

8 to 6 = 2

9 to 6 = 3.

Add them:

4 + 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 2 + 3 = 16.

Divide by the amount (7):

16/7 = 2.285.

May have gotten this wrong, because I'm not that good at M.A.D...
