According to Frederick Herzberg who did some research on employee satisfaction in the 1950's there are two factors that drive employees satisfaction. They are Hygiene and Motivators. In Kelvin's case, Herzberg would have classified the factors that drove his job satisfaction as;
- D. Motivators
According to Herzberg, motivators provide more satisfaction for employees than hygiene.
Hygiene borders on factors as salary increment while motivators border on factors like employee recognition and career growth.
Since his colleagues remarked on factors like growth, promotion, and more responsibilities, Herzberg will group these under Motivators.
They will provide more job satisfaction for Kelvin in his new job.
