6. Don’t forget the basics
7. Look for something new
horror stories are hard, but you'll get the hang of it.
step one: get an idea
maybe a common fear or a fear that would be considered stupid. it's up to you. just make sure it's original
step two: plotter or panster?
a pantser is someone who makes up a story as they go, and a plotter is someone who plots their story out. decide who you are. if you are a panster though, it is very useful to at least make a character profile.
step three: make something scary and unique
making something scary is very hard for beginners, but if you do some research it gets so much easier. it is also useful to practice by writig short horror stories and read horror stories.
step four: climax
every good horror story; or every good story in general, needs a good climax. maybe build up some suspension, or make a unique plot twist. whatever it is, this will be the peak of your story and the most interesting and eventful part.
step five: wrap it up
maybe they die, maybe the villain wins, maybe someone dies but not others, maybe they all escape, maybe a plot twist happens in the very end. make sure your ending is good, unique, and wraps up the story in a good way.
