Chloroplast: Photosynthesis : Solar energy into  usable chemical energy

Mitochondria: Cellular Respiration: Produces ATP in all life forms

Explanation:

Chloroplast is the organelles present in plants where process of photosynthesis takes place. It is a disc shaped having inner and outer membrane. Between the two membranes lie grana in thylakoid membrane.

In thylakoid membrane chlorophyll is present and a light harvesting complex.

Photosynthesis is the process in which light energy from sun is converted into chemical energy i.e. glucose which will be a substrate for cellular respiration in animals. Photosynthesis takes place in two steps i.e light dependent in which ATP and NADPH and oxygen is formed and light independent or Calvin cycle reactions takes place in stroma. It uses the products of light dependent reaction to form glucose.

Mitochondria: It is the power harvesting organelle of eukaryotic animals in which cellular respiration takes place.

The intermembrane space and matrix of mitochondria contains protein and enzymes for cellular respiration.

In cellular respiration glucose molecule is broken down to release 38 ATPs. NADH and FADH2 made in citric acid cycle and glycolysis undergoes electron transfer in electron transfer chain and ATP is produced.
