Before the great depression women would stay home and work around the house, when the great depression hit the women thought they should help out the men so they went out and found jobs. Women didn't make as much money but they thought that whatever they made would help their families. Women started cutting back on what they bought and made it themselves, they sewed more clothes, baked more bread, and canned more vegetables.
