When I think about my destiny, that cloudy cool mirage,1
The options and the chances overlap in a collage.2

I sometimes spend an afternoon in dreams of come what may,3
A changeable amusement, better than any matinee.4

Ambitious as I am, there is so much that I foresee,5
I’m writing seven million drafts of my biography.6

Youth is like a blindfold to the life I’ve yet to meet,7
I can’t make out the future with my life so incomplete.8
