For some people rebellion is one their only option, if they dont fight back they could never get what they want. But other times it's not smart to rebel. If you are outnumbered or dont have the tools required to rebel, you probably shouldnt. In the olden days, if a slave had rebeled he probably would have been killed very quickly, but if he waits for the right moment to escape than he could survive. Its not as intense and it saves his life.
