Study the picture of the birds. These birds are all types of birds found in the islands of Hawaii and they all evolved from a common ancestor. How did these birds come to look different?
A) Some offspring were born with slight genetic differences from parents that proved to be an advantage in their current environment.
B) Adult birds faced with a challenge grew different beaks and other traits to fit their environment.
C) Scientists most likely altered their DNA to help them survive.
D) Birds passed on acquired traits to offspring.

Respuesta :

I believe this answer is A. answer D sounds very similar, but A goes into detail and gives an explanation. This explains survival of the fittest and is the reason of why organisms evolve.

Answer: I'm no biology geek, but i believe the answer is D

Explanation:

A: i believe no because it says SOME offspring were born with sight different from parents genetically but in reality all organisms are genetically different due to sexual reproduction

B: no because the traits will have to be passed on over a long period of time and this question does not depict that

C: it's a possibility, but they are talking about evolution and that is artificial selection

D: I was deciding this or a for the right answer, but I thought of what the question was asking and the way that evolution works is desired traits continue, and that those desired traits are passed on generation from generation, which helps the species survive

so i hope this helps :)
