For example, just recently the world was shaken to the core when they came to light about the George Floyd incident in Minneapolis. The poor man did not plan on resisting the arrest at all and agreed to be restrained. Without warning the 4 officers tackled Floyd to the ground while Derek Chauvin (the cop who placed George in a state of asphyxiation), put the suspected fraudster in a chokehold for 8 minutes and 46 seconds. His last words melted hearts all over the world. “Please I can’t breath. My stomach hurts. My neck hurts. Everything hurts. They’re going to kill me.” Despite Floyd’s obvious discomfort the 4 officers ignored him and continued to suffocate him. This use of excessive force led to his unfortunate death. This misuse of power forced the world into an uproar against ALL police officers. All because of the ignorance, stubbornness and sheer stupidity of ONE officer. This situation clearly shows how racism can be a very dangerous thing and how common it is in society.
