When a researcher from one culture attempts to take measurements in another culture, they risk setting up deficit models. This means that the researchers probably fail to post questions that could be relevant in that culture. Some groups could be considered less important than others or not having the qualifications to be interesting enough, according to the researcher's perspective. And, this would create a scenario in which important information could no be considered.

That is why it is so important that researchers collect the proper information before they can get to that different culture in order to know the past, the context, the social and political structure,  and the reference groups so they can consider all valid information and never biased
