Well, we are talking about two Spaniards that had a totally different conception about Native American Indians.

On one hand, Juan Ginés de Sepúlveda supported the conquest of the Americas and the appropriation of those territories for the Spanish crown. He thought that the conquerors should have no considerations for the Indians. Sepúlveda agreed on waging war against the Indians to get their natural resources and force evangelization to impose the Catholic religion.  On the other hand was Bartolomé de las Casas, a Dominique Priest who had respect for the Indians and their culture, and was against the war to conquer these Native Indians tribe. He believed in peaceful evangelization and offered support to the Indians.
