I need help- I'm confused

I'm writing an essay about how police officers badly mistreat people of color. (ex: African Americans, Hispanics, Latinos, etc.) However I'm using the phrase, people of color and colored people, alot and I don't know if I can really use it too much- is there another word or phrase that's similar to it?
