y-17=102 (vertical angle)
y=102+17=119
(y-17)+3x=180 (straight angle)
102+3x=180
3x=78
x=26
(All measure in degree)

so since 102 and y-17 are directly across from eachother they have the same value. and 3x + 102 has to equal 180.
