Today, pandas live in fragments of forest that are
not connected. What is one way that fragmented
habitat could affect the growth rate of a
population?

Respuesta :

Answer:

It would decrease

Explanation:

I don't know if this is 100% right, but I think that if it was fragmented it would make the pandas more visible to poachers and predators. Did that get you brain going?? Did this help??

One way that fragmented habitat could affect the growth rate of a population is by causing a decrease.

Habitat fragmentation is defined as the process by which large habitats are divided into smaller fragments due to occurrence of natural disasters such as:

  • flood,
  • wild fire outbreaks and
  • over population.

The smaller fragments are usually separated from each other by another matrix of habitats different from the original habitat. This can lead to the dispersal of the living organism in that habitat.

An example of an animal that is at great risk of habitat fragmentation is the pandas.

Increase in human population has lead to the cutting down of the bamboo trees where these animals prefer to live.

This gave rise to the fragmentation of their habitat there by leading to a decrease in their population.
