some people are suprised that wegener's ideas about continental drift were not immediately accepted do you think the explanations that can explain most,but not all of a problem should be taken seriously?
The main reason his hypothesis was not accepted was because he suggested no mechanism for the moving of the continents. He originally thought that the spin of the Earth caused them to move but geologists knew that rocks were too strong to be moved like that. If he gave better reasoning then his hypothesis might've been accepted
