Some factors that effected industrialization in the late 1800s include Abundant natural resources (coal, iron, oil); Abundant labor supply ; Railroads; Labor saving technological advances (new patents) and Pro-Business government policies. This goes to show how new types or sources changed the way of the industrial revolution.

Unfortunately, conditions for the workers in factories that mass manufactured products was not exactly high quality. Most workers were employed in dangerous areas with very low paying jobs.

The Westward expansion, the 19th-century movement of settlers into the American West, began with the Louisiana Purchase and was fueled by the Gold Rush, the Oregon Trail and a belief in "manifest destiny." These contributed to the desire to move west and gain riches.

For most Native Americans, the expansion was harmful. Their originally owned land was taken and used unwillingly. Many Natives were put into reservations around this time and force to change their culture to become more like the whites that surrounded them. This also happened to immigrants and minorities.
