he loved Sophie. he didn't want her to get hurt in anyway. he tried protecting her all he could( even if it meant risking his own life for her ).

idk... i read this a long time ago. for a fact, he was sympathetic for humans. the bfg was friendly and protective of sophie. he secured sophie from other human-eating giants, so i guess he was pretty protective. the bfg joined sophie with the queen i think so that he could create a plan to stop eating giants by putting them in a massive pit. after all of this, i believe the bfg was protective and he trusted sophie whether or not he was indignant of it.
