9. The perimeter of a rectangle is 30. The width of the rectangle is 3 less than the
length. Write an equation to represent the situation. Solve the equation to find the
width and length

Let, the width be x and then the length will be x+3

Perimeter rectangle= 2(l+b)

or, 30= 2( x+x+3)

or,15 = 2x+3

or,2x= 12

:.x=6

:.l=x+3=6+3=9

:.w=x=6
