The axis is tilted and always points in the same direction as the Earth orbits the Sun. During the June-August months the northern hemisphere gets direct sun rays translating into its summer season. Conversely, the southern hemisphere gets indirect sun rays translating into its winter
The movement of the Earth on its axis and around the Sun determines what can be seen from different positions of land, because depending on the direction, only what is in the field of vision located in the mentioned part of the land will be visualized. Understand more....
Movements of the Earth
The main movements of the Earth, that is, those that have the most noticeable direct effect on our lives, are rotation and translation.
Rotation
Rotation is the movement that the Earth performs around itself, circling around its central imaginary axis for an approximate period of 24 hours, with a speed of 1,666 km/h. The rotation occurs in a counterclockwise direction, that is, from west to east, which causes the apparent movement of the sun to be from east (rising) to west (sunset). The main consequence of this movement is the succession of days and nights.
Translation
The translation is the elliptical movement that the Earth performs around the sun, with a duration of 365 days, 5 hours and 48 minutes at a speed of 107,000 km/h. When the Earth completes one complete revolution with respect to the sun, we say that a year has passed. The main consequence of this movement is the origin of the seasons, which occur because the planet's axis has an inclination of 23º27', causing the succession of solstices and equinoxes.
With this information, we can conclude that the movement of rotation and translation are also responsible for the direction of the eyewitness on earth, being the movements responsible for the direction we look into space.
