South's Plan was simple and straightforward. Since the South had the advantage of a large open territory, all the South had to do was defend their land and put to use their impressive military leadership until Union Soldiers grew tired of fighting. The South also attempted to get support from European countries, especially Britain. The South hoped that cotton that Britain needed for its textile mills would influence them to aid the Confederacy.
