Answer:

For a religion to help a group of nomads and farmers to develop into a major civilization, it must realize that human life is not all about religion.  While the place of religion in human affairs cannot be questioned, it is always important to stress that religion remains a part of human existence and does not represent the whole picture.  Religion teaches us about the things of God so that we can apply the lessons to our human existence and in our human interactions.

There is also the secular aspect of human life.  Therefore, any religion that does not recognize this aspect of human existence is headed to self-destruction, because it is not sustainable.  This is the reason that Jesus asked his disciples to "give the crowd something to eat."  In his practical realism and nature, Jesus recognized that the word of God is not the only human food, there is also the physical and psychological aspects of living, which must be catered for, together with the spiritual.

Explanation:

Most of the African nomads and farmers are taught the Islamic religion without a care for the secular life of the adherents.  This practice has greatly explored the nomadic population to primitive living.  Some of them still live as if they were 15th century primitives without any access to world civilization.
