[tex]\large{\underline{ \underline{ \bf{Newton's \: Third \: Law \: of \: Motion}}}}[/tex]
"To every action, there is equal and opposite reaction."
- A force acting on a body is always the result of its interaction with another body, so forces always come in pairs.
- These two forces act on two different bodies and they act at the same instant of time.
Practical Application of Newton's Third Law:
- Recoiling of a gun: When a bullet is fired from a gun, it exerts a forward force on the bullet and the bullet exerts an equal and opposite force on the gun.
- Walking on the ground: When we walk on the ground, our foot pushes the ground backward and in return the ground pushes our foot forward.
- Rowing of a boat: The boatman during the rowing of a boat pushes the water backwards with oars and the water exerts an equal and opposite push on the boat which moves it forward.
