Explanation:

The Peace Without Victory(PWV) is an iconic speech by US President Woodrow Wilson in 1917. He said that "Victory would mean peace forced upon a loser, a victor’s terms imposed upon the vanquished...It would be accepted in humiliation, under duress, at an intolerable sacrifice, and would leave a sting, a resentment, a bitter memory upon which term of peace would rest, not permanently, but only as upon quicksand.”

The Peace without  victory was a smart decision for World War 's Peace process, because of followings reasons:-

  • It set out the principles that should govern the peace settlement, and it is often seen as the purest expression of the postwar world order.
  • The focus on neutrality that is rather than finding the faults in other nation states, the PWV states every state to restrain from any further bloodshed.
  • It gave “Fourteen Points” (January 1918) and augmented by pronouncements, envisioned restoration of a stable, equitable, and enduring international balance through a new collective security organization, the League of Nations, based on a consensus of the great powers.

Conclusion:

Without Peace without treaty and the fourteen points, it would not be possible for war mongering nations to settle for peace under the guidance of US President Wilson. This helped to showcase the effectiveness of neutrality, peace and importance of a League.
