1. What is a massacre? Is the Boston Massacre an accurate name for what happened? Explain your answer.

Respuesta :

A massacre is an event in which many people are killed. The Boston Massacre is not exactly an appropriate name for what happened due to the fact that only 5 people were killed. The use of the word "Massacre" was that of propaganda by the Patriots. This sort of propaganda was used to get people angry at the British and their government so that more people would join the revolution. Paul Revere produced an engraving that showed a full blown massacre happening with lots of people laying dead when, in reality, there were only 5 patriots killed and it started as nothing more than a riot.

Propaganda-The use of public information(such as a pamphlet) that provides readers with information on a topic, though usually in a biased manner, that is meant to either promote or put down a cause or individual.

Engraving by Paul Revere- I hope that the pic attached (Link at the bottom) works if not there are lots of pictures on the internet. Just look up "The Engraving By Paul Revere" and go to images.

Hope that this helps answer your question.
