Respuesta :
A human cell in prophase of mitosis can be distinguished from a human cell in prophase I of meiosis by the presence of paired homologous chromosomes in the meiotic cell.
CELL DIVISION:
- Cell division involves two processes namely: mitosis and meiosis. Mitosis results in two daughter cells that are genetically identical to one another.
- Meiosis, on the other hand, results in four daughter cells that are genetically different from one another.
- Mitosis and meiosis as types of cell divisions involves phases namely: prophase, metaphase, anaphase and telophase.
- The major difference between prophase of mitosis and prophase I of meiosis is that homologous chromosomes, which are similar but non-identical chromosomes from each parent, are paired.
