large bodies of water affect climate because water heats and cools more slowly than land therefore in the summer the coastal regions will stay cooler and winter warmer. A moderate climate with a smaller temp range is created
The large water bodies such as seas, oceans and lakes affect the climate of the area beside them. The water cools and heats up slowly as compared to land. Therefore, the nearby areas seems to be more warmer in summer and more colder in winters. The large water bodies also helps in precipitation as more water is evaporates and as a result of this more precipitation takes place making the nearby area cooler.
