It's important for a researcher to know all safety procedures and where all safety equipment is stored even if they never have an accident because this information could save your life.  Even if you've never made a mistake or had an accident there's always that chance that you mess up and something bad happens and if you didn't know the safety procedures or where safety equipment is it could cost you your life and possibly the lives of others.

This is the field where the safety procedures for all the processes in the factories or manufacturing units are studied.

The checklist and the MSDS processes are designed by the safety experts for the workers and plant safety.

The hazard management involves HAZOP study which helps a worker and the managers to avoid big mishappenings at the place and even to control the incidences so that small incidences do not covert into a hazard.

The knowledge of the safety procedures and the place of storage of safety equipment is essential as no guarantee that if anything has not happened in the past it will not happen in the future.

Everyone working in the plant and near any equipment must be trained for handling any kind of accident and everyone should know the safety protocols that must be followed when an accident occurs.

This basic knowledge can prevent casualties and can save lives.
