The Democratic Party believes that for the economy, during hard times, the government should help create jobs. This is very unlike the Republicans' stance, as they believe in a hands-off government. Instead, they believe that businesses will create jobs and opportunities for people to prosper.

Republicans tend to follow the conservative ideology. They believe that the government should have small structure and should operate majorly at state level or local level. They support minimum interference of government in economic sector and prefer private sectors over government sectors to resolve issues related to economy. They follow more of traditional values and they believe that government should uphold traditional morality and keeping that in mind, government should impose restrictions on same sex marriages, abortions etc on the other hand, the world’s oldest political Party which is the Democratic Party believes that government should intervene in economic decisions and also provide a range of social services to society in order to bring equality in the society.
