So you can set this problem up like 6+ 1.25x because Christian has $6 in his wallet that is the total so we can leave it so far by itself without a variable. Now on the other hand, the apples Christian wants to buy is $1.25 per apple it is x because if it is more than 1 that is each so in math we represent it with a variable of just x .
