Here is a diagram of kaths garden 11m,10m,19m,8m work out the area of the garden

Given:
The diagram of the garden.
To find:
The area of the figure.
Solution:
Draw a line a and divide the given figure into two parts as shown below:
From the below figure it is clear that the line divides the figure in two parts:
1. Rectangle with sides 11 m and 8 m.
2. Twice with base (19-11)m = 8 m and height 8 m.
The area of the rectangle is
[tex]A_1=length \times width[/tex]
[tex]A_1=11\times 8[/tex]
[tex]A_1=88[/tex]
The area of the triangle is
[tex]A_2=\dfrac{1}{2}\times base \times height[/tex]
[tex]A_2=\dfrac{1}{2}\times 8 \times 8[/tex]
[tex]A_2=\dfrac{64}{2}[/tex]
[tex]A_2=32[/tex]
Total area of the garden is
[tex]A=A_1+A_2[/tex]
[tex]A=88+32[/tex]
[tex]A=120[/tex]
Therefore, the area of the given garden is 120 sq. m.
