Is this a simile? Metaphor? What is it plz help :)
“He looked over at Mildred...tamped in her ear again and she was listening to far people in far places, her eyes wide and staring at the fathoms of blackness above her in the ceiling.”
I believe this would be a metaphor because similie would have the words like or as in it. Is there options of what it is? It almost just seems like it's describing something in great detail because of "fathoms of blackness above her in the ceiling". That part isnt really comparing anything.
