(Ponyboys perspective)- I was gasping for air, coughing up water on the pavement. I turned to look at Johnny, who was sitting next to me. He wasn’t looking at me though, he was lookin’ at the ground. I looked at the ground nearby too and immediately felt sick and dizzy. I was in shock, not sure if I could believe what I was seeing in the moonlight. I began to panic, I started screaming at Johnny. I didn’t want to go to prison, I was scared, I had run away with Johnny.
