In Science, waves that have similar amplitude are created to interfere with unwanted sound waves.

What is a wave?

A wave simply refers to a disturbance in a medium that progressively transfers energy from a source to another location, especially without the transfer (transportation) of mass (matter).

How is noise cancelled in sound waves?

Generally, waves that have the same (similar) amplitude are created, so as to interfere with unwanted sound waves. Consequently, the crests of one wave overlap with the troughs of the other wave, thereby, causing the two (2) waves to cancel out each other.
