John award used a rhyme scheme in his writing which makes it very affective!! he also is from Scotland which also describes his background and techniques used by him! hope this helps!!!!
Facts: 
 he studied English French and Latino at A level
 In 2012 he got a queen's gold medal for poetry
 he was raised in Georgetown Guyana
