Look around: No one is exactly like you. Even an identical twin is not a clone. Each person is an individualized collection of traits -- characteristics that are influenced by genetics and, often, the environment. However, you certainly share traits with others. You are not the only one with black hair, green eyes, freckles, long legs or dimples. Your phenotype consists of all of your observable traits, and many of them are not unique to you. However, much of your phenotype is based on your genotype, which is your specific assortment of genes. This inherited information is what makes you distinctive.
