Please HELP!!
A ferris wheel of diameter 18.5m rotates at a rate of 0.2rad/s. if passengers board the lowest car at a height of 3m above the ground, determine a sin function that models the height \, h, in meters, of the car relative to the ground as a function of the time, t, in seconds.

Respuesta :

The form this function will take will be:
h = Asin(ωt) + d; where A is the amplitude of oscillation, ω is the angular velocity, t is the time, and d is the displacement above the ground when time the cart is at the middle of its path.
A = radius = 18.5/2 = 9.25 m
d = height at middle of path
= 9.25 + 3 = 12.25 m

h = 9.25sin(0.2t) + 12.25
