It's 10 o'clock at night and you're out on a boat. if you head back into the coast where a land breeze is blowing, the temperature would get cooler. During the night, the land becomes cooler at a faster rate than the sea. The cold air from the land moves towards the sea to form the land breeze. The hot air from the sea rises and that gets filled up by the colder land breeze.
