If five less than y is six more than x + 1, then by how much is x less than y?​. please explain more on this. i thougjt the answer is 7​

Let’s say y is 20 so five less 20-5=15 so 15 is six more than x + 1 so 15-6=9 ,
9+11=20 , so that means x is less than y by 11 but x could be less than y by 12 because it said x + 1. Hope this helps
