cost of 3 pizza + cost of a salad = $ 20.7

3x + 3 = 20.7

b) 3x + 3 = 20. 7     {Subtract 3 from both sides}

3x       = 20.7 - 3

     3x = 17.7  {Divide both sides by 3}

       x = 17.7/3

      x  = 5.9

Cost of one pizza = $ 5.9
