Comparison of adjectives is used to make comparison between objects. It exists in three forms;

i. positive which is the adjective itself without comparison. It is from this positive that the other forms derive from. For example, clean.

ii. comparative which is used to compare between two objects. For example, cleaner.

iii. superlative which is used to compare between more than two objects. For example, cleanest.

The following sentences show examples of these forms of comparisons:

i. The fan in my room is smaller than the one in my mum's room. [comparative form]

ii. My dad's car is the biggest in our compound. [superlative form]

iii. I love good hygiene so I always serve my food with clean plates. [positive form]
