Hi, I need your help on this Bible question!!!


The early church divided the handling of their problems into two categories. What were the categories and who addressed the problems in each category?

The categories that the early church was divided into include:

  • The Ministry of the Word and Prayer
  • Serving of Food.  

It should be noted that the ministry of the word and prayer was handled by the apostles while the serving of food was handled by the selected seven disciples. We can see this in Acts 6:1-5.

The early church was inaugurated after the ascension of Jesus. As the church expanded, there was a murmuring that the widows were neglected in the ministration.  Therefore, the apostles appointed seven servers that will handle the service while they concentrated on the ministry of the word of God (Acts 6:4).
