If the universe were not flat but was instead to curve, then it would not be possible for the universe to be truly infinite. This is because in the presence of curvature, no matter how slight, the universe would inevitably eventually curve all the way around and collide with itself, having no more room to expand.
However, from the current values, it is believed that the universe is both flat and therefore, infinite.
