working:

it's needle is inserted into a medicine pot , when the piston is pulled outward , the air pressure in the syringe barrel is reduced . liquid flows from the region of high pressure to low pressure .

hence this is how a syringe works.

Hand pump

hand pump or water pump is a manual suction that lifts the water to levels of a spout .

working:

there are two working in it they are.

  1. upthrust: when we push the handle down the piston moves upwards . there is increase in he gap between the piston valve and foot value . it creates a vacuum in between in two valves in barrel , due to which v1 opens and V2 closes.
  2. down stroke:when we pulled the handle up , the piston moves downward . there is decrease in the gap between the piston valve and foot valve . it creates a high pressure in between the two valve in the barrel . due to this v1 opens and V2 closes .

Air pump or, bicycle pump.

air pump is a device designed to trap a certain volume of air into a storage cylinder which is then pressed into a discharge pipe.

working:

there are two working they are:

  1. upstroke: when we pull the handle up , there occures formation of partial vaccine in between the two valves . due to the high atmospheric pressure outside , the air enters into the barrel through a hole at the top of barrel . it opens inlet valve (v1) and air is stored into the barrel . At the same time the outlet valve ( V2 ) get close.
  2. down stroke: when we push the handle down the air is compressed and the air pressure increases . it opens the outlets valves (V2) . air goes out through the nozzle to fill the tube .
