Think of a recent news story or celebrity gossip clip that you have read about or watched recently. Describe the medium (television, newspaper, magazine, Internet, etc.) and the genre (news talk show, opinion column, comic strip, personal blog, etc.). What were the specific characteristics of this medium? What kind of details did you learn via this medium? What kind of language did the medium use? How did the overall presentation of the information affect your mood?

Answer:

Nicki Minaj and her tweet.

Celebrity Rapper Nicki Minaj recently was all over the news for a, "anti vaccination" comment she had made on social media app, twitter. The singer was cristised after making a comment about how her cousin had been affected by the vaccination, and how his, "testicicles became swollen." All the newspaper, television and social media stories on the subject used informal language, and called her out of misinformation for the public. I learnt from this overall presentation that celebritys should fact check information before spreading it to such big platforms and to their fans. Someone like Nicki Manaj could have influenced many people during a critical time to not get vaccinated, therefore spreading the virus.
