Christopher Columbus was an Italian explorer who navigated voyages through the Atlantic Ocean. He opened way for civilizations to be created and come into America. Columbus discovered the New World in 1492. He was one of the first Europeans to contact land in America from Spain. Columbus was a heroic explorer who started change for the New World and for development of the land and various settlements after discovery.
